ENKELA KOKOLANI
Viola

Enkela Kokolani began violin lessons at age six at the music school of Argyrokastro, where she later studied viola. After completing her bachelor’s degree there, she continued at the Fine Arts Academy of Tirana, studying under Professors Gjegj Pekmezi and Arben Llozi, graduating with an Excellent grade.
She was a member of the New Mediterranean Orchestra in Aix-en-Provence, France, for two consecutive years.
In 1996, she joined the Athens State Orchestra, first as a temporary, then as a permanent member. From 1997 to 2000, she also served as First Principal of the Municipality Orchestra of Athens.
She has attended masterclasses with Bruno Pasquier, Rainer Moog, and Grigori Zhislin.
In 2011, after an educational leave, she earned a Master of Arts from the University of Graz, Austria, under Professor Christian Euler. During this time, she performed as First Principal with the Woktland Philharmonie (Germany) and the Kaertner Symphony Orchestra (Austria).
Since 2017, she has been Principal in the Athens State Orchestra.
She has performed at numerous chamber music festivals in Greece and abroad, including the Cyclades International Festival, Nyiregyhaza Festival (Hungary), Paxos Festival, Musikythnos Festival, and ANΩ Festival (Syros).
She is a member of ” Ethera ” String Quartet, “Quintarco” String Quintet and “Faggotissimo” Bassoon trio.
As a soloist, she has performed the L.E. Larson Viola concerto (Megaron the Athens Concert Hall, 2003), Hoffmeister’s concerto, Brandenburg concertos (Kythnos, 2023), and Schubert’s Arpeggione (Athens, 2024).
She teaches violin and viola at the National Conservatory of Ymittos and the International Conservatory of Ilioupoli.
